LWVLC Policy for Inclusion of Write-In Candidates

The LWVLC will invite write-in candidates to participate in Voter Service programs (such as Candidates Nights or Voters Guides, for example) only if such candidates are legally qualified to hold the office being sought and if they meet two or more of these criteria:
*Public announcement of the candidacy
*Existence of a campaign committee and position papers
*Evidence of fundraising for the campaign
*Evidence of campaign literature and campaign appearances
*Demonstration of significant voter interest and support
The burden of proof rests with the candidate who must submit the required evidence in writing six weeks before the League activity.
Notification should be sent by certified mail to the League of Women Voters of Lancaster County, P.O. Box 1261, Lancaster, PA 17608.
